Our Community in Action
For the second year running, local residents have been busy using their hobbies to help decorate the community to help make it a more attractive place in which to spend time.
Several voluntary organisations have got involved in knitting and crocheting flowers and environmental images that have been used to produce netting displays for on railings in the community. Town Council applauds the creativity of our residents. Thanks goes out to Cartref Community Hall, Bargoed library crochet club, Residents at Ty Clyd Residential home, St Gwladys Church Hall to name but a few. Thanks also goes out to all those local residents who have spent hours of knitting and crocheting in your own homes. The 2023 displays have been wonderful!
These are some of the examples of the displays in our community for the 2023 season:
Would you like to get involved?
Members of the Cartref Community Hall Ladies group in Bargoed who meet on a Tuesday and a Friday each week (10am – 1pm) co-ordinate the activity and distribute wool to residents who express an interest in getting involved. Why not pop along and have a chat… help make next year’s displays even bigger.
