Remembrance Arrangements 2020
As a result of the coronavirus, and to protect public health, there will be no remembrance events or ceremonies at the memorial gardens in Aberbargoed and Gilfach, or at the cenotaph in Bargoed.
Members of the public are asked not to gather at any of the three venues on Sunday 8th November.
Any organisation wishing to place a poppy wreath can do so at a time of their choosing from Sunday 8th November. The gates to the memorial gardens will be open in the morning and remain open for the duration.
Please could all organisations try to avoid the peak time from 10.45am to 11.15am wherever possible.
If laying a wreath at St Gwladys, Bargoed please note there is a one-way system in place. You should enter from the bottom car park opposite the Cosy fish bar and follow the path up to the cenotaph. All visitors are required to leave via the top gates onto church place. There is to be no passing on the footpath as a 2 metre distance is not possible.
The Royal British Legion and the RAF Association are encouraging the community to show their respects by participating in the 2-minute doorstep silence on both Sunday 8th and Wednesday 11th November.
