Bargoed Town Council Christmas Tree Supply & Installation Work 2023

Contractors are invited to provide a quotation for the supply, installation, removal and
recycling of a 22ft Cut Christmas Tree. Installation to include a surrounding wooden
white picket fence (approximately 1 metre high).
Tree Location:                           Hanbury Square, Bargoed CF818QQ.

Installation method:               Using the existing tree pit at Hanbury Square which is located to
the left hand side of the Miners Statue (as you are looking at the statue)
in front of the bridal shop.

Please see important information and dates relating to the work below. We would
like to receive quotations electronically by 5th September 2023 for contract to be
confirmed by 29th September 2023.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & DATES RELATING TO THE WORK:
• The festive lights switch on event will take place at 5:00pm on the last Friday of
November. The end of the festive period/switch off date is 6
th January of the following
year and the tree should be removed for recycling by the end of January unless it is
appropriate to leave specific lights in location.
• Installation work must be completed by 20th November.
• The contractor will be required to liaise with the Council office to agree and confirm
work timescales to meet the dates above.
These dates are extremely important as they give us enough time to cope with any
repair/refurbishment work and order in additional lights if required.
• The contractor is required to arrange and use own access equipment.
• The contractor will be responsible for any road closures and traffic management
necessary during installation and derigging along the public highway.
• The contractor must adhere to any requirements placed by the local authority,
Caerphilly County Borough Council.
• Confirmation of the relevant insurance documents and Health and Safety risk
assessments/method statements will be required prior to the commencement of
work
